Try a ii–V–I

Tap the keys, or play along on your computer keyboard: A S D F… is C D E F, W E are the black keys.

Never get stuck

Always know what to play next.

No more going round the same three chords. Wherever you are, Noodle maps out a few ways forward: home, up to the IV, somewhere darker, somewhere more colourful. Pick one and play it.

Sound great

Turn noodling into real music.

Play the first chord of a route and Noodle follows along, lighting up what comes next. Your doodling starts to sound like songs, from the very first session.

Understand it

Know why it sounds good.

Every chord comes with its numeral, the key you're in on the circle of fifths, and which notes land, add colour, go bluesy or clash. Real music theory, picked up while you play. No textbook.

Meet Noodle.

She's a dachshund with very good ears. She reacts to everything you play.

How it works.

  1. 1

    Plug in your keyboard

Any MIDI keyboard or digital piano, over USB or Bluetooth MIDI. Noodle finds it on her own.

  2. 2

    Just play

No songs to learn, no lessons to sit through. Play whatever you like and Noodle names it as you go.

  3. 3

    Follow where it goes

Pick a route, play its first chord, and let Noodle walk you the rest of the way.

Good to know.

Do I need a MIDI keyboard?

Yes. Noodle listens to MIDI, not the microphone, so it hears every note exactly. Most digital pianos and keyboards made in the last fifteen years have USB-MIDI or Bluetooth MIDI. On older iPads you may need Apple's camera adapter.

Which devices does it run on?

iPad with iPadOS 17 or later, and Mac with macOS 14 or later.

Is it for beginners?

It's for anyone who can already find a few chords and wants to know what to do with them. If you've ever got stuck playing the same three chords, Noodle is for you.

What does Noodle know about me?

Nothing. There are no accounts, no tracking and no analytics, and what you play never leaves your device. The privacy policy has the details.

Noodle, wagging

Sit down and play.
